picture of feautred bengal cat

Hi, my name is Ben and I'm a young adult male Bengal cat. My past is somewhat of a mystery to those I work with and I like to keep it that way. All they know is, I was caught in a trap and brought to the animal shelter. I was very ill at the time and I allowed them to nurse me back to health. In exchange, I agreed to manage the hospital as I see fit. Usually, that means sleeping on towels fresh out of the dryer, trying to push the doctor out of her chair so I can stretch out, or snooping through people's purses at the front desk. If I'm feeling sociable, I may talk to people out front or allow them to pet me. My hobbies include begging for canned food, napping, and shooting out of my litter box like a rocket.
I'm a Leo.

Dr. Donna Parr : Veterinarian
Dr. Parr is a Scott County native. She grew up on a small family farm in the Newtown area. Her interest in veterinary medicine became evident at an early age as she nurtured and cared for horses, cows, dogs and cats on the farm. She attended the University of Kentucky on a National Merit scholarship. Her desire to focus on small animal medicine and research led her to the School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University on Boston, MA. She graduated in 1989 and went to work at an AAHA accredited small animal hospital in Elizabethtown where she spent several years gaining more experience in medicine and surgery. In 1994, she returned to Georgetown with her husband Jim to open her own small animal hospital. They continue to focus on the special needs of family pets. Dr. Parr spends her free time gardening, reading murder mysteries, and playing with the horses, dogs, cats and chickens on her farm.

Jim Parr : Financial Manager
Jim is a native Texan. He served as a medic in Vietnam before finishing his military career as an intensive care nurse. After retirement he he used his nursing skills to help his wife Donna care for the animals at Tender Care. Today Jim manages the financial end of the business. He enjoys spending time with the people and the pets that visit the office. His hobbies include raising chickens, tending the farm, visiting family in Texas and Florida, and watching as many movies as he can. He is owned by several Arabian horses, a pet cow, two Maltese, a very spoiled indoor cat, many barn cats and an abundance of chickens.

Randi Adkins : Office Manager / Head Technician
Randi started working for Dr. Parr and her husband Jim when she was only a sophomore in high school. After school and on weekends she would clean kennels and walk dogs. After graduation, she moved away to pursue an education in the nursing field. It didn't take her long to realize that her heart was not in it; it was back home "with the dogs". As soon as summer hit, she packed her bags and came home. The last seven years have brought many changes to Randi's life including buying her first home, adding two dogs, a cat, a parrot and most recently a fiancee. One thing remains the same, Randi will always call Tender Care "home".

Dr. Tammy Haun : Veterinarian

Dr. Haun joined the staff of Tender Care after spending many years at a busy multi-doctor small animal hospital in northern Kentucky.  She is a native of Richmond and attained her veterinary degree at Auburn University in 1999.  She recently married her high school sweetheart, Christopher Campbell, a chemist.  They have filled their home with mischievous cats and enjoy home improvement projects.

Amanda Anderson : Receptionist and Director of First Impressions
Amanda has worked in the veterinary field for about two years. She joined the team at Tender Care in January of 2008. She is grateful that the rest of the staff and the clients have welcomed her like family. She loves her job and wakes up excited to start the work day. Amanda is almost finished with a Bachelor's Degree in General Studies but plans to stay in veterinary practice. She loves seeing a new puppy or kitten, as well as watching the doctors solve a problem for an old dog. Amanda is always eager to learn something new, love on an animal or listening to a funny story from a proud pet owner. On March 1, 2008 Amanda married her high school sweetheart and man of her dreams, Jarrett.

Natalie Hamilton : Veterinary Assistant
Natalie joined the staff of Tender Care in September 2008, bringing her experience from a mixed-animal practice in Owen County.  She still lives on a farm in Owen County and raises goats, rabbits and dogs.  She celebrated her 21st birthday in December 2008 and we hope she remains part of our team for many years to come.

Shaina St.Pierre: Veterinary Assistant

Shaina has been an important part of our staff since 2008. She assists in every area of the practice, from answering phones to helping in surgery. Shaina is a senior in high school this year and is working at Tender Care as a co-op student. Her future plans include attending Morehead University to obtain a degree as a veterinary technician. When she isn't caring for animals, she enjoy reading and is seriously addicted to both the Twilight series of books and the Prison Break television series.
